The biodiversity of Actinomycetes in the River Nile exhibiting antifungal activity

چکیده
The taxonomic analysis of 114 actinomycete strains isolated from water of the River Nile and its bottom sediments showed that most of the water isolates belonging the genus Streptomyces. As well as, the majoring of the sediment isolates belongs to the genus Micromonospora. The overwhelming majority of Streptomyces species are Str. antibioticus, Str. aunlatus, Str. violaceus and Str. antimycoticus. M. carbonaceae and M. purpureochromogenes were also identified. Of 68 Streptomyces strains obtained, 11-exhibited significant antimycotic activity. Among the test fungi examined, Aspergillus niger and Trichoderma viride proved to be the most susceptible to the active substance present in the fermentation broths of Streptmyces strains. These active substances seem to be polyenes. its bottom sediments at Giza and Cairo and examinating the antimycotic activities of streptomycete isolates. Material and methods

Biosynthesis of Silver nanoparticles from Actinomycetes for therapeutic applications
Silver is composed of a large percentage of silver oxide due to their large ratio of surface to bulk silver atoms. Silver nanoparticles have been a potent antibacterial, antifungal, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory agent. A simple, eco-friendly, inexpensive biosynthetic method was employed to synthesize silver nanoparticles. The present study aimed at the comparative study of silver nanopartic...

Endophytic actinomycetes were isolated from surface sterilized leaves of Catharanthes roseus (L.) G. Don offamily Apocynaceae. A total of 38 endophytic actinomycetes were recovered on Starch Casein Agar.Among the 38 isolates 20 morphologically different isolates were screened for antibacterial activity againstBacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pr...

Background and Purpose: Actinomycetes have been discovered as source of antifungal compounds that are currently in clinical use. Invasive aspergillosis (IA) due to Aspergillus fumigatus has been identified as individual drug-resistant Aspergillus spp. to be an emerging pathogen opportunities a global scale. This paper described the antifungal activity of one terrestrial actinomycete against the...
متن کاملIsolation of biologically active Actinomycetes from untouched soils: a case study from Karaj district, Iran
Actinomycetes are a source of a broad variety of secondary metabolites with diverse biological activities, such as antifungi, antibiotics and antitumorals; many of which have been developed for clinical use. In this study, 34 actinomycetes from untouched soils were isolated from Alborz Province-Iran. Evaluation ofantifungal and anti bacterial activities of these isolates, demonstrated the capab...
